Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and financial need, with preference given to students who have been affected by Tourette Syndrome. TAA scholarships can be used at any accredited institution of higher learning, including public institutions and private colleges and universities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, you must be 18 years old or older at the time of application and either:
- Have been diagnosed with Tourette syndrome by a licensed medical doctor or other health care professional; or
- Have received an official diagnosis of Tourette syndrome from your child’s pediatrician. The award recipient must also be enrolled in an accredited college/university program.
Step 1 of 4 – Applicants Must Submit The Following Information

- Date of birth (YYMMDD)
- Year in school (ex: 2021)
- Major/minor at college/university 6 years left before graduating from high school 7th grade 8th grade 9th grade 10+
Step 2 of 4 – A current Transcript Must Be Submitted
You will need to submit a current transcript.
- The official version of your transcripts must be sent electronically via email. Please include the following information:
- Your full name and date of birth (Day/Month/Year)
- Your home town, city or state where you live now (If applicable)
- The name of the school where you attended high school as well as any other schools that have been attended before that one. If this applies only to one particular year then just put “High School” instead – this would mean that all years prior could be ignored if needed later on down the road when applying again.
Step 3 of 4 – Proof Of Minimal US residency
Proof of minimal US residency at time of application is required (e.g., driver’s license or other government-issued ID).
If you are applying for a scholarship as a dependent student, your parent or legal guardian must submit proof that they have established residency in the United States and have been living in the United States for at least one year before submitting their application. Students who are not eligible to establish resident status may be able to do so by providing appropriate documentation; however, the University reserves the right not to grant resident tuition waivers if such documentation does not meet all requirements outlined above.
Step 4 of 4 – A letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment from a college/university must be submitted
If you are applying for the scholarship, you need to have a letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment from a college/university.
You can submit your application by mail or fax. A scanned copy of your acceptance letter must also be submitted as part of this step (if applicable).
